Photo Friday

My sense of humor couldn't resist the alliteration but lack of the same consonant beginning the title words. I'm an English Geek. I'm probably the only one that thinks it is funny. I should probably go with Foto Friday, but I'm an outside of the box kind of person. Since I'm usually off on Friday, I'll try to post from the plethora of old pictures on my computer.

Today I thought I would share a few pictures from the drive through the Cherohala Skyway that Josh & I took last fall. We were still engaged, and I can tell it was getting close to the wedding because I was looked like I was at wedding weight. Those were the days . . . I'm currently trying to to lose back down to that weight. Sigh.

This week has been busy as usual, but fortunately it was productive. I have had a very low-key day today. I have been dead tired, and I haven't quite figured out if I can be labeled as lazy, recovering from a long week, or fighting off getting sick. After sleeping in & taking a nap today (and still feeling tired) I have to wonder if it's a combination of all three.
Tomorrow is going to be fun. Kimmie & I are going to be taking advantage of the tax-free weekend. We'll be shopping & lunching with my parents. Josh is busy with Crossroads this weekend. I'm looking forward to a trip to McKay's. I haven't seen the new store, and I have some books to turn in for credit. Besides looking at cookbooks, children's curriculum, & children's books this weekend, I'll be perusing clothes & shoes. As many shoes as I have, I need some work shoes. I have enough heels to last me me a while, so I'll be going practical with tennis shoes & arch support.
I had a strange dream last night. I dreamt that our church pianist had to be out of town, and I was asked to fill in. Granted, I had about 8 years of piano lessons, but I haven't played in ages, and in the dream I was given about 15 minutes notice. I woke up before the actual service began, but I imagine it would have been atrocious. With practice, I could have possibly managed.
I'm going to go get ready for tomorrow by sorting through more books. Enjoy your weekend!

It's August already?

I'm still here, trudging away every day. I've had the slight guilt of not having posted on my blog recently, but it was a busy & tiring week. No huge news from here, except that we had a small quake at the cabin at 9:38 AM yesterday morning. The epicenter was about 8 miles from here & it was a 3.2 magnitude. Earthquakes always feel weird, and this one was no different. It was like something struck our house and left in a wave. Josh went to the front door & said he could hear it rolling over the mountains as it left. I could feel the ripple roll through the house. Like I said, strange.

I made a quite yummy recipe yesterday taken from Taste of Home. It was a Creamy Hash brown Casserole, and it was delicious. If I get a chance sometime, I'll post it. We brought the leftovers to Mamaw's today, and the Holder family also approved. We ate a portion of it yesterday along with another one of the Taste of Home recipes - chicken nuggets. The breading has Parmesan cheese in it. Yum!

That's about it for now. I'm tired; we came home late from a dinner at Stevie's B's & some bargain grocery shopping. Have a great week. I'll try not to be so much of a stranger.
