Reunion

There was a reunion today for Josh's Mamaw's side of the family. It was a lot of fun, and I had the opportunity to meet some of his extended family. And, of course, there was lots of yummy (fattening) food.

I'd post more, but the rest of my pictures are of a lot candid shots of with many people I don't know well, and I would feel kind of weird putting them up on the internet. My parents were there today as well, and they are mixed in with a few of my unposted candid shots.

Anyway, none of us look half as cute as Christianna. ;)

A graduation gift

Our pastor & his wife, knowing how much I love owls, got this for me for my graduation. I'll add the box to my owl displays, and I'll add the necklace to my owl jewelry. ;) So cute! (and maybe a little funny looking.)

A touch of domesticity

I've had some free time since I am out of school but not yet employed. So, I've had the chance to do some house wifely duties.

I baked. This is from a Cinnamon Swirl coffee cake mix from Aldi. Josh went to pick another mix up today to replace the one I used, and they didn't have it. Oh, bother. :( It was quite yummy. Guess I'll have to do the next one from scratch. I have a recipe I want to try anyway.
I cut flowers from our garden & made a bouquet.


And I've tended to our garden. I still have some weeding to do. I must say, the cherry tomatoes have some exceptionally well in Topsy Turvy holders that hand from our front porch. As long as I keep them watered & high winds stay at bay they do quite well.
This will be my last post of the night. I would have posted much sooner but our internet went down for several hours. Fortunately, it is back up & running. :)

I have a potential pre-k job in the works, so hopefully I'll be able to share about it next week. For now, please keep praying for God's timing and that whatever falls in to place will be within His will.

My new friends

I mentioned our neighbor's horses in a previous post. They were still in our yard the next day, so I took the opportunity to take pictures of them. I talked to the neighbor's daughters later that day (when they came to retrieve the horses). Apparently there is a hole in the fence that they are in the process of repairing. Aren't they pretty? And, they left me some fertilizer for my garden. ;)

I have many assorted pictures from the past few weeks that I would like to share. So, I will be doing a series of mini posts over the next few days. There are way too many pictures to put in one post. So, hope you enjoy.

The pictures above were taken around dusk, after it rained. It is very pretty up here after it rains. The cloud/fog rolls in and fills the valleys.

I feel like I should always include a picture in my posts...even if it is unrelated. Haha.

Google+ -- Anyone heard of it? I've just joined. It's kind of like Facebook, but it's not. lol. My qualms about Facebook will have to wait for another day.....

Anyway, if you like this kind of thing, you might want to check it out. ;) Not sure how the whole thing works, but I can always send invites if necessary. If you're not into social networking, then you probably won't care for it. Google+

And on a separate note...

Ya gotta love livin' in the sticks. I just went outside to let our cats in for the night. I heard a strange noise, beautifully accompanied by our motion sensor light suddenly cutting off (And, of course, I happened to watch Halloween yesterday). After returning inside for my flashlight & dancing around to make the light come on I realized what it was...2 of our neighbor's horses who wandered into our yard to munch on our grass. lol. Crazy big, but beautiful horses. I fed them baby carrots.

Why won't cats pose for pictures?

Sigh. The best one is the last one. Mostly because it kind of looks like he is smelling the flower.
