PCB #2

I was amused by this because Mary Jane managed to get a picture of me taking a picture of them.

Josh & Jenny on the balcony.

Our beautiful view

It was double red flags most of the week because of the hurricane. :(

Did you know that my hair is naturally curly?

Josh and I left Benjamin with the family, and we had a date at Captain Anderson's.  It was quite yummy.

We walked on the pier (across from Pier Park) afterwards.  It was quite windy.

My little man.  I love sports themed outfits on him.

Benjamin's first dip in a pool.  It was our last night there.

Here's a shot of the wind and waves from the pier.  We didn't get the brunt of the hurricane, but we sure saw some high winds and waves.

7 weeks old

Okay, so this is a bit belated since Benjamin will be 9 weeks old on Sunday, but I took the time that day to take a few pictures of him.  Labor Day Sunday was his first time going to church with me and Josh for Sunday School and service.  I took a few pictures before changing him when we got home.

I love this one.
A good chubby cheek picture.
This is what I mean when I say the child is strong.  His balance isn't good enough to help him hold these poses for long.  He sure tries though.
A few of the faces he gave me instead of the smile I was looking for...

Poor child gets the hiccups all the time.  He tolerated them for a few minutes before fussing.  And yes, that is my drummer husband in the background making some kind of beat with his hands.  Decent microphone on my little camera.  I was in the back bedroom and he was in the living room.

Benjamin loves his Daddy

Words can't express the joy I feel when I see this little boy smile.
And, when he does it for his Daddy.  Priceless.

Peek-a-boo anyone?

At Benjamin's first church fellowship/pool party on Friday evening.
He DID NOT like the temperature of the pool.
As mentioned in the post below...He's a fan of swimming, but in much warmer temperatures. ;)

Hot tub time!

We have discovered something that Benjamin absolutely loves to do...
Play in the hot tub!
We have it turned down to a reasonable temperature, so it doesn't overheat him.
We tried him in it for the first time on Saturday, and then we did it again today.
We put him in his pool float for the first time today, and he took to it very well.
He's taken to kicking his feet a lot lately when he's awake,
so this provided him more experience to work those muscles.
He looks quite cute in his Little Swimmer & swim trunks.

I took a short video of him.  He was doing a little bit of "talking" to us earlier when Josh was tickling his feet. I couldn't get it to do it for the camera, but at least you can see him floating.
He kept trying to look at Josh instead of me. :)

There is one drawback to letting him spend time with us in the hot tub.
He HATES being taken out of it!
I've never heard our child scream as much as he has both times we have removed him from the tub.
Even though I have warmed the bathroom with a heater and already have him a warm bath ready to go, he won't console until he's been washed, dressed, fed, and then napped.
The boy has quite a temper.  Good thing he's cute.  lol

PCB #1

My apologies on the delay uploading pictures.  The internet has been especially slow here the past few days.
I'm hopeful that it is because they seem to be working on a 3G to 4G conversion here in the hills of copper.
We will see.

Benjamin's first time on the beach.  You can sense his enthusiasm.

Christianna loved every minute of playing on the beach.
If she wasn't in the water with Papaw, she was digging in the sand.
We had a good laugh one day as she kept putting sand back in a sand castle "moat" that Jenny dug.

The Holder clan umbrellas (behind the navy ones that can be rented).
So colorful.

Papaw & Christianna playing in the water.

Our resort--ocean side.
Oh yes, we were on the 25th floor.  Penthouse, baby.
We loved our view.
I hated the outside access to our room.
It was bad enough  for a not so fond of heights person to walk along the balcony corridor.
Add in carrying my newborn son along the way....shudder.

Josh playing in the waves. (He's on a float.)

Family picture right before Benjamin took a dip in the ocean for the first time.

He didn't like it at first.

He got used to it soon enough.  Poor boy was a bit tired.  He always seems to be tired.  lol

Another trip to the ocean.  I though this was just precious.

More pictures to come...soon hopefully.

Trail mix

It's simple, it's yummy, and it is reasonably healthy.

I came up with this mix the other day, and I love it!

I just made the mix with a large portion of mixed nuts & granola (Cascadian Farms oats and honey),
added some extra dry roasted peanuts to bulk it up more,
and then sprinkled in some M & M's for a sweet morsel here and there.

This works as a high protein snack while I'm breastfeeding, lounging, or on the go.  And, it's good pretty much anytime of the day.  These bags were made for our Florida trip.

And because no post is complete without a picture of him...

Benjamin.  I believe this was actually the morning of our departure.  Poor boy didn't want to wake up at first.    As you can see, lights on and unswaddled, but he still got a little more sleep before we departed.

I haven't forgotten to post beach pictures.  I've just been preparing to consign at Ashely Lauren's Closet.
It's next week.  Hooray!

Coming soon

We're back from a week at the beach.  More pictures coming soon. ;)
