Visit to Pre-k

Today Benjamin & I visited my pre-k classroom.  I met my kids, read them a book (Rhyming Dust Bunnies by Jan Thomas is one of the most awesome books ever), and went out with them at dismissal to meet some of the parents and grandparents picking up their kids.  

After that we dropped by kindergarten so my kids from last year could see Benjamin.  They saw me grow bigger & bigger all last year, but they hadn't met him yet.

That said, today was our 2nd visit to pre-k.  We also visited during an RTT day a few weeks ago.  

Mrs. Trish, my FANTASTICALLY AWESOME co-teacher, got to hold him.  

Ms. Leslie, our SUPER SWEET FSS also posed for a picture.

I realized that I had never really shared my classroom with my blog followers, so I thought I would share with you what I will be returning to in about a month.

Won't be long until I'm back to work with the kiddos.  It's bittersweet.  I look forward to having some "me" time at a job I love, but I'll miss my own sweet baby.  I feel worse for him because he won't understand at first why his mommy leaves every day. :(  I find some solace in his being able to have one-on-one caregiving with his Grammy and our pastor's wife.

Ashley Lauren's Closet

Benjamin received his first Dolly Parton's Imagination Library book in the mail the other day.  Hooray!  I love that there is an organization that sends my child a free book every month.  :)

Last week was Ashley Lauren's closet.  I was able to find some very cute stuff for Benjamin.

I also got some clothes for me from the maternity section.  Some of them I fit now since I'm still losing weight, and some of them will just be for next time...whenever that will be.

Something we've used a lot lately...The bouncy seat.  Benjamin seems to like it, and it gives my arms a break sometimes.

Overall, I had a great shopping trip.  Altogether between baby shower gifts, gifts from family, previous consignment sales, and a great big bag of clothes from our pastor's wife (Thanks, Denise!), Benjamin should be set for the winter.  He pretty much has everything he needs until 9 months old.  I only wish I had found maybe one other winter jacket and some more long-sleeved onesies.  I think we should make do though.  

And on another plus side, I made $68 from this sale which helped offset some of the cost of the things that were purchased.

Wednesday church

Here's a picture of Benjamin and me at church last Wednesday.

Looking at this picture from when he was 1 week old, you can really see how much he has grown!

One of the Awana activities of the night was a balloon release.  There's a message from our Awana kids attached to each balloon including the address for people to send us letters back.  We actually do receive responses from people who find the messages after the balloons pop & fall somewhere.

The treehugger in me shudders a bit at our annual release.  Oh well.  

Benjamin wasn't too enthusiastic about the whole ordeal.  He enjoyed his stroller though.

Did you know that my hair is naturally curly?

Josh and I left Benjamin with the family, and we had a date at Captain Anderson's.  It was quite yummy.

We walked on the pier (across from Pier Park) afterwards.  It was quite windy.
