Tuesday, June 25

Josh saw an opportunity to take pictures of Benjamin looking out the glass sliding doors.
We were on the 11th floor at Regency Isle, so we had an excellent balcony view.

Tuesday morning started with sleeping in, but once everyone got up and moving we decided to go to Lambert's in Foley, AL.  This was a must for us since several people in the family had eaten there before, and it was memorable enough to warrant a return trip.  They are "The Only Home of the Throwed Rolls."  (No, my friends, that is not a typo.)  They have quite large portions, as you can see by comparison to Benjamin.  His left hand is on my roll, thrown to us of course.  The drinks come in what we think are 54 oz mugs.

The food is FANTASTIC.  I highly recommend it to anyone who is in the area.  They have a few locations in Missouri as well.

Afterwards, we gave Christianna and Benjamin an opportunity to ride in one of the little quarter powdered vehicles.  They both smiled, but at different times as you can see.

Later that day I took the opportunity to give myself a pedicure, something that does not happen often.  I'm not an amazing nail artist, those are stickers that you put on and then coat with clear nail polish.

After a while we journeyed down to the pool.  We had a disaster on a prior day when I got Benjamin ready to go to the beach/pool, had him all sunscreened up, and then it started raining, and he got tired and started rubbing his eyes.  He ended up with sunscreen in his eyes, and it was a nightmare.  The rest of the week we tried to time the days so that we went out after he needed the sunscreen.  We already had a game plan to avoid peak sun times since he is still very young.

We were fortunate that after a while the outdoor pool is in the shade of the building by later afternoon.

Chillin' with Aunt Jenny.

A shot of myself since I often end up taking the pictures and not in them.

Josh joined us after resting a while.  He was battling some yucky sinus problems that had him feeling blah.
The kiddie pool was set up as part of the pool, but it was just a ledge in the shallow end that was much shallower than everything else.

Josh and I switched for some pictures of Benjamin with me.

I took it upon myself to tickle him so as to get him smiling.

After a very tiring day, Benjamin went to sleep with no issue.  In fact, I believe he went to bed by 9, which is quite impressive for him.  These were taken prior to moving him to his pack n play.

Overall, we had a great day!

Saturated Saturday

Hello everyone!  Benjamin here.
I'm guest blogging today since Mama is busy with those posts from our vacation.

It's been raining buckets here and in town, but Mama and I got to go outside Saturday morning while it was nice and cool before it started raining again.

Here's my favorite toy...ahem, pet...Athena.

She gets reallly nervous when I try to touch her.

What's that noise?!

It's Papaw and his dog Flossie!
I wanted to touch Flossie, but I make her nervous too.

Papaw came up to say hi, to check on the moo cows, and to ask about my birthday party next Saturday.
I'm going to be turning one on the 15th!

After Papaw left I went back to walking.
It makes me happy to be able to move places.

Mama wanted me to stand in front of our Black-Eyed Susans.
Nope!

What do you mean, "Rocks aren't for eating?"

Oh, Lord, I thank you for this rock on which I am about to partake.

Nom, nom, nom, nom.

Mama, you're so silly.  I still don't want to stand in front of the flowers.

I must chase Mss Aphena.

Fine, I'll kind of smile.

Oh look, another rock!

Nom, nom, nom, nom.

Okay, here's a good smile.

I'll post another because I'm just so darn cute.

Fine, I'll take a picture in front of those flowers, but I'm going to eat a blade of grass the whole time.

Right foot

Left foot

It's fun to walk back and forth over the gravel.

I fell down!  First to get on my feet.

Then push up with my hands.

And....GO!

You can't catch me!

Oh, look!  Blackberry bushes full of thorns!  I must touch them!

Mom, why are you calling me?

Mom wants me to go back the other way I guess.

Mama says it's time to go in.  I think she's getting tired.  ;)

I hope you all had a great weekend!
More pictures from our trip coming soon.
