An almost snow

We had a light snow in our neck of the woods today.  Benjamin asked at first if he could go play in the snow.  After he saw outside better he asked if he could go play in the mud.  lol

Playing in the mud is pretty much what he did too.  Since he was so keen on splashing in puddles his time outside was short lived.  I didn't think 30 degree weather and puddle splashing mixed very well.

Our week at a glance

We had a very busy (last) week taking down Christmas decorations and cleaning the house in preparation for family and friends who came over on Saturday to celebrate January birthdays.  Josh's Mamaw turned 80 this year, and my mom has a birthday coming up on the 16th.  We took some great pictures, but those will have to come at another time.

My all day sickness is decreasing, but unfortunately my carpal tunnel (which plagued me for months of my pregnancy with Benjamin) is returning.  I've been sporting my wrist brace off an on to help it out.

A post is not complete without pictures of my sweet 2 1/2 year old.

This was taken Sunday at church.

Benjamin tried on Papaw's reading glasses at Mamaw's and got a kick out of it.

I attempted to take pictures of my "bump" this evening.  I have yet to figure out the proper way to take a pregnancy shot.  The first one is me...errrr...relaxed.  The second one is a n attempt to "suck it in."  lol.  I'm 17 weeks today.

My sweet boy humored me with a cuddle selfie

Notable achievements of Benjamin this week are that I am now being called Mommy instead of Mama.  I'm not sure what brought that change.  He started back to Kindermusick this week--which he still loves.  We have opted not to send him to Soccer Shots this semester since he does not seem to keen on it at the moment.

Sorry it's a bit scattered.  It's past my bedtime. ;)

Happy New Year!

I've been disappointed in my (lack of) blogging this past year, and I have told myself that with a new year upon us, it is time for me to stop worrying about playing catch up on my posts, and instead I will just try my best to stay "caught up" this year.  There are so many little moments that make up our lives, and as a tentative goal for the year I would like to blog about once a week.  I may go back and still try to catch up on a few highlights of this past year.  With a 2 1/2 year old and a baby on the way, we will see how much time and energy I can dedicate to the cause.

I do have a Facebook account now, so if you haven't found me on there, that is another way to stay in touch with our family.  I resisted it for a very very very long time, and I still don't know what to think about Facebook, but it works well as an aide to our ministries at church, and it is neat way to be in contact with people who I literally haven't talked to in the past 20 years.

I hope everyone has a great start to 2015.  Here are some pictures taken of us with Benjamin yesterday.  It was a chilly day for the playground, but we had a lot of fun anyway. :)

Da Bubbles!

It's neat, and kind of funny, to go back and look at incomplete posts on my blog that have just been sitting in drafts for a while.  Here is one from back in June of Benjamin playing with our (at the time) relatively new Bubble blower.

I'm pretty sure I was modeling a new haircut at the time.  My hair was cooperating much more then in the summer months versus our cold dry winter months right now.

Only Child Expiring June 2014

We are happily expecting Baby Holder #2 on June 24th.  I am 12 weeks along, and I have been sick virtually all day everyday since 4 weeks.  I am happy to report baby and I are healthy.  We are grateful for your prayers as we celebrate this miracle.

Baby is profile with the arrow pointing at his/her nose

Baby is still profile with a bent elbow and fist near his/her mouth.  I believe there might be some thumb sucking going on.

Be still my beating heart...

I just can't get enough of my child's cuteness.  I felt blessed to get some cute pictures of him playing outside on Tuesday.  Believe it or not, he really doesn't smile all the time.

Count me as feeling even more blessed to get even more cute pictures while we played outside tonight!

I love this boy so much. :)

Catching up

Apologies for being so very absent on the blog for over a month.

A quick one for the evening to show how much our boy is growing.

This was pre-haircut this evening:

 And post-haircut:

Yes, he is getting some length to him.
He's in about the 85% percentile for his height and 50% for his weight.

We love this incredibly strong-willed, stubborn boy.
