Buckets full of fun!

We have tried to make the most of our (potentially) last day of vacation here at the cabin.  The weather patterns and road condition here in our lovely state will determine whether we end up with one more day off.

Thank you for your prayers as Josh and I have recuperated.  Benjamin thankfully has not caught the flu.  I still fatigue quite easily, but otherwise I am back to normal.

Benjamin and I had some rousing games of chase.  

He also tried on his "hat" multiple times.  It was a new adventure taking off at full speed with it over his entire head.  He thought it quite funny.

 

 

He found fresh amusement in my turning my phone so he could see himself as he pulled his "hat" off and on.

I have the flu.

Josh and I both have the flu. Praying it away from our baby.  It's awful. If you haven't gotten your flu shot yet, I recommend going. This is awful.

(A belated) Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas to you all! I hope everyone has had a blessed season.  

I took the time to upload a few candid photos of us from the past month.  I don't have much time to post at this very moment, but I am hoping to play some catch up this next week.  

Benjamin is about 17 1/2 months now.  He has all kinds of teeth which you will probably see in a few pictures.  I promise he doesn't always wear that orange coat.  For some reason I had it on him for many of those photos.

That's all for now.  I've been playing with my new toy from Christmas -- a sewing machine.  Off to finish a project.

Dinosaur, ROAR!

I apologize for the lack of blogging.  I've been super busy lately.  

Benjamin was a dinosaur for Halloween.  My mom and I used a pattern/tutorial we found on Pinterest here. 

I know I'm biased, but it turned out A-D-O-R-A-B-L-E.  Of course, he has a lot to do with that. ;)

These were taken the Sunday after Halloween so that Josh's family could see it.

In case you're keeping count -- Benjamin is 16 months now.  I turn 30 years old this week.  Josh and I celebrate 5 years of marriage this week.  Soaking up the Lord's blessing each and every day!

Traveling to Disney (Day One)

We left out on Friday, October 4, with plans to drive part of the way to Disney on the first night.

We stopped at a local Taco Bell before leaving town. I had the fiery Doritos los tacos, and they were quite yummy. I was also able to sample some of the Cinnabon bites that they have new there. I highly recommend them.

 I found amusement in this dirty little sign at a rest stop telling us to wash our hands.

Benjamin did a lot of sleeping on the way down there.  Notice that he is in his big boy car seat. It was his first trip in it.

Benjamin did his fair share of playing as well, and he watched Bubble Guppies on our iPad. Overall he did fairly well for a 15 month old. His fussiest moments were just when he started to get hungry or thirsty. I made the mistake initially of putting the bag with his snacks in the trunk. We rectified that quickly at a rest stop.

We stayed our first night at a Fairfield Inn and Suites in Valdosta. We were very pleased with it.

At the last stop prior to arrival I got in the back with Benjamin because he had started to get fussy. He ended up falling asleep in the car. It was around 11 o'clock at night. Way past his bedtime.

Sweet dreams, Benjamin. Sweet dreams for his mom and dad too. The bed was quite comfortable, and very welcome after a tiring week.
